The ASCA Competitions Committee has made the decision to open up six more Cup Tasting Championship spots in each of the four regional coffee championships, at the latest Competitions Committee meeting that took place on 2 August.
The committee also made the decision to not open up any additional spots in other competitions, including the currently sold out Brewers Cup and Barista competitions in the Central and Southern region.
The decision was made following a review of the current schedule, and judges registration. Any competitors who weren’t able to get a spot in their regional competition have the option to compete in other regions. Although they can still qualify to make it in the #ascatop12, to compete in the Open Heats at Nationals, they can’t place in that region.
