Summary of 2018 ASCA AGM – meet the new ASCA Board

The Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Criteria Coffee on Friday 12 October 2018.

Around 40 members attended the meeting in person, with interstate members joining the meeting via video link. including online voting, for the first time.

The meeting was officially opened by outgoing President Brent Williams, who acted as chairperson.

Outgoing Secretary Jeremy Regan confirmed the minutes of the preceding AGM, and the members accepted these minutes.
Brent Williams presented the President’s Report, which included notable highlights including the creation of the Competitions Committee, the establishment of the Eleonora Genovese Award and the annual ASCA Symposium.
Nic Michaelides presented the Barista Guild overview, and welcomed new Barista Guild Head Michaela Gerard.
Jeremy Regan presented the Roasters Guild overview in the absence of Lucy Ward.
Chris Wheatley presented the Treasurer’s Report, which focused on the healthy financial position of the organisation as well as a sponsorship overview.
