The ASCA Barista Guild is proud to announce its first Barista Camp, taking place in Queensland from Friday 25 August to Sunday 27 August 2017.
The Barista Guild Camp is a chance for like-minded baristas to come together and better connect with different aspects of the coffee industry to help them in their profession, while making new friends and having fun!
The camp will based out of the Gold Coast, with daily trips that touch on different facets of the coffee industry. The camp includes a coffee workshop, a tour of the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery, and a visit to Wirui Estate coffee farm.
“We’re so lucky in Australia as Baristas to not only be on the cutting edge of specialty coffee, but also to live in a coffee producing country,” says Nic Michaelides, Head of the ASCA Barista Guild. ” So in the same weekend we can talk about what’s really pushing coffee preparation forward, while also strolling through rows of coffee plants and learning about how they grow. It’s crop to cup all in one weekend.”
Cost for the camp is $250, and is currently only open to ASCA members only. The price includes all activities, transportation on Saturday to the farm, and lunch on Saturday.
