Cold Brew! It’s that time of the year again where Proud Mary Coffee Roasters host its Collingwood Cold Brew Throwdown…
The weather is heating up, it’s time to celebrate the best cold brew that Melbourne has to offer Thursday 2nd November from 6pm – 9pm
Proud Mary is inviting brewers, baristas, roasters and coffee hobbyists alike to throwdown the cold brown for the prestigous title and cash-prizes.
“We just want to have people around us and share the space, come together over coffee, have some fun, listen to tunes and enjoy frothies” says Proud Mary Training Manager Lisa Feeley.
“We have limited rules for the Throwdown, a cold-brew can be anything, a 74-hour slowly brewed Geisha, chilled moccamaster to coffee brewed and charged with nitrogen. Just no alcohol!”
“Recipes are only limited by our imagination,” Lisa says.
The throwdown will see competitors present (not literally throw) their coldie to judges and provide samples to the public.
Last year local legend Harry Ko impressed judges and this year we have two awards to be decided on the night. The judges will tally their score on first, second and third-place winners and the public will cast their vote for a people’s choice award.
Entry costs $15 per competitor. Public entry is free. Spectators are encouraged to join the fun with beer ($5 cans) and food available on site.
The competition will take place at 200 Wellington Street, Collingwood, Victoria.
